HONORABLE MENTION
- Furman Class Year: 2026
- Major: Mathematics

Furman Engaged is a fantastic demonstration of the Furman Advantage and has reaffirmed my passion for learning, exploring, and researching new things. Going into the day, I wanted to go to talks and discuss the posters on topics that I knew nothing about. During the talks that I was presenting at, the other presenters had radically different research as I did and learning about those things and the passions that they have intensified my desire to learn more at Furman Engaged. After my talks were over, I went to Timmons and made a point to walk down the aisles that I did not have any knowledge about. I talked to people who did research on sustainability, health sciences, religion, computer science, linguistics, animal science, and physics and stopped by posters in my areas of passion of math and education. All of these interactions reaffirmed my love for Furman, my desire to learn about everything, and my desire to complete my own research, study away, internships, and creative endeavors. Developing that passion has prepared me and motivated me to be an innovative undergraduate and intellectual in general. I will take this experience on as I consider opportunities at this amazing University and continue to search out opportunities to learn about things that I have no knowledge about.
