The Shucker Center for Leadership Development engages members of the Furman community in creating and sustaining a cohesive culture of lifelong leadership development, training, and education.
Named in honor of Dr. Harry B. Shucker, Furman’s former Vice President for Student Life, the center empowers students to become leaders by facilitating opportunities for intentional learning, self-reflection, and skill development. We believe in developing authentic, visionary, goal-driven, action-oriented and resilient student leaders who exhibit an awareness of self and others. Our programs include the Shucker Leadership Institute, the Furman Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), Furman Student Leadership Awards, CliftonStrengths for Students programs, and Team Building Services.
Our institute encourages and nurtures leadership skills.
Each year, we recognize our students for their leadership and service to the Furman community.
Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) recognizes students who have become leaders across campus.
The CliftonStrengths for Students experience can help you identify the ways in which you most naturally think, feel, and behave.
