Riley Institute’s Bryan Boroughs featured in Post and Courier
Furman University alumnus Bryan Boroughs, executive director of The Riley Institute, was featured in a Post and Courier article by Anna B. Mitchell. Boroughs took the reins in October as Don Gordon, founding executive director, stepped down. Gordon will focus on fundraising for the institute during his retirement. Education reporter Mitchell explored the rich history and statewide benefit of The Riley Institute, which launched in 1999 as a “one-man shop” and was named for Richard Riley ’54, two-time South Carolina Governor and U.S. Secretary of Education during the Clinton administration.
Boroughs, a 2002 psychology graduate, said his goal is to grow the impact of the institute on both students and the community. He holds a master’s in public policy from Georgetown and a juris doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
