Samantha (Sam) is the same-day counselor at Furman University, with a passion for helping navigate the many changes that come with university life. Sam uses an eclectic-style approach to counseling with skills pulled from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy. She has training and experience in family/childhood trauma, neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ issues, gender violence, and disabilities. Sam is currently completing a Fellowship at Furman University as she is finishing her Masters in Social Work (MSW).

In addition to her passion for therapeutic work with college students, Sam is an avid adventurer and a great resource for the best hiking, camping, and swimming areas nearby. Feel free to ask for recommendations on the most therapeutic nature spots- either on or off Furman's campus.
