Rebecca Haffen joined the Institute for the Advancement of Community Health (IACH) in 2021 and currently serves as Associate Director of Career Education, Health Careers & Experiential Learning. In this role, Haffen works closely with students to support health career exploration, professional development, and access to high-impact experiential learning opportunities. She leads and supports initiatives that connect students with internships, community-engaged experiences, career education, and other opportunities that strengthen their preparation for careers in health and healthcare.
Haffen also collaborates with campus partners, employers, alumni, and community organizations to develop programs and partnerships that expand students’ understanding of health career pathways and connect academic learning with meaningful professional and community experiences.
Prior to joining IACH, Haffen advised undergraduate nursing students at Lander University. She earned a B.S. in Business Management from the University of South Carolina and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from The Citadel.
