Sgt May joined Furman University Police Department in September 2025 after retiring from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office after serving 26 years. He last position was as a Uniform Patrol Sergeant, prior to that he worked in narcotics and the Sheriff's Office Center for Advanced Training. On his days off Sgt May enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, two goldens and a beagle. Together they enjoy traveling and spending time with family. Their most recent trip was France with another planned later this summer to Greece, Turkey, and Austria. Sgt May and his wife are a house divided as he is a Gamecock and she is a Tiger.
