In her own words...

"As a result of Attending Furman Engaged, I am excited about the future of my own personal “Furman Advantage” here at Furman. I am currently planning to study abroad next spring to Spain, Italy, and Greece through the Religion and Classics departments. After listening to each reflection about the Chile study away trip, I was able to understand how much their experience changed their perspectives on the world and made them global citizens that care about the wellbeing of all people. Getting to see how each student was able to create such a meaningful experience, I am excited to be able to engage in and learn about the cultures of the countries I will be traveling to. As a recently declared Health Sciences major, I am also eager to begin opportunities such as internships where I will be able to experience a real-life setting using the skills I have honed from my classes here at Furman. In a discussion of her internship at Shelby Wellness and Therapy Center, Jillian Eisel reflected on how through her internship she learned not only how the field works and future career/post-grad opportunities but communication skills and self-confidence as well. It inspires me to know that here at Furman I will be presented with so many wonderful opportunities that will enhance my academic experience and prepare me beyond measure for life after Furman."
