Lauren Schmaltz joined the Office of Development in 2025 to engage Furman parents and families in meaningful ways to support students as they embark on an incredible journey of learning, growth, and discovery. She has spent most of her career in non-profit organizations, prior to joining Furman, Lauren was the Administrative Director for the World Parrot Trust. Lauren holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies where she focused on human connections to the environment. She also holds a dual degree from Clemson University in Biological Sciences (Honors) and Spanish. She is a fluent speaker of Spanish.
