James W. Eynon is a decision scientist whose expertise is centered on using data to cultivate effective business decisions. Professor Eynon joined Furman in 2013, having previously taught at Wake Forest University (Colleges of Businesses), Northern Illinois University (Operations Management and Information Services), and Southern Illinois University (Management of Information). His teaching portfolio includes courses in general management, business information systems, information systems strategy, database systems, systems analysis and design, process improvement, machine learning, and multivariate statistics. Jim teaches applied problem-solving and using intuitive explanations along with computational tools to understand data-driven decisions.

In addition to teaching in UES, Jim works with organizations across industry sectors to use data to answer critical empirical questions. He has worked in industries that include financial services, media, manufacturing, IT services, construction, entertainment, transportation, retail, and of course education.

Jim has lived in Greenville for five years. He has a blended family of four children 23-17 and likes hiking in the area mountains.
