Based in Charleston, SC, Jim is responsible for Investor Relations and Mergers and Acquisitions for South State Corporation. South State is an $8 billion asset bank holding company headquartered in Columbia, SC that serves markets in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

Prior to joining South State, he worked for the New York based investment banking firm of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. (KBW), a Stifel Financial company. At KBW, Jim directed the firm's southeastern U.S. activities in mergers and acquisitions, strategic advisory and capital markets assignments for financial institutions.

Mr. Mabry is a member of the Board of Directors at nCino, Inc. and faculty member at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. At Furman, he has been a member of the Parent's Council and Parent Campaign Committee.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1979, Jim obtained a Masters of Business Administration degree from UNC- Chapel Hill in 1983.

He and his wife have two sons who graduated from Furman.
