Jack Buehner is a programmer and data analyst at the Shi Institute. He works closely with the Applied Research team on ongoing projects.
Jack is a Furman alumnus, having graduated May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Environmental Science and a Minor in Data Analytics. As an undergraduate, he focused on the development and automation of GIS techniques to detect the locations and sizes of individual trees in the City of Greenville with the goal of using the generated data to improve tree equity in the city.
When he is not a Furman, Jack can be found playing board games with friends, programming useful tools, or hiking and camping in the mountains.
