In her own words...

"Furman University is a place where exploring one’s interests is encouraged. As a rising sophomore, I can only imagine where I may end up after my four years at this university. However, Furman Engaged makes that pathway clearer. Furman Engaged presented a number of opportunities for me to view current students and peers as they presented their own experiences at this university. These experiences could be from Study Away Programs, Creative Projects, May Experiences, Internships, and Undergraduate Research - all of which are possible for me thanks to the Furman Advantage.

During my day at Furman Engaged, I attended two presentations that I found to be quite applicable to my current interests and my future endeavors. I expected this outcome from my first presentation, which related to my major. However, the second presentation I attended was out of pure curiosity, yet I still managed to find a way to apply it to my future career beyond Furman.

… Furman Engaged gives students the opportunity to explore options in fields that relate to their studies and interests, as well as explore those that are on the opposite side of the spectrum. I am grateful for this opportunity, as a presentation that was seemingly on the other side of the spectrum of my interests ended up providing insight that I am sure to think back on in my future career. My Furman Advantage is the access I have to opportunities such as these that allow me to plan ahead for my future and take the next steps to set myself up for success."
