Captain Gregory Smith began his law enforcement career with the Mauldin Police Department in 1995. In 1997, he was hired by the Greenville Police Department, where he served for the next 23.5 years, retiring as a Captain in the Criminal Investigation Division. During his tenure with the Greenville Police Department, Captain Smith served in a variety of roles, including front-line, supervisory, and command-level positions in Special Services, Vice and Narcotics, K9 Services, Dignitary Protection, Operations, Investigations, and Internal Affairs. Captain Smith joined the Furman University Police Department in 2021. He currently oversees the daily operations of Police Administration and Investigations.
