Dr. Franklin Aviles-Santa is the International Business Chair in the College of Business and Sports Professions at North Greenville University.  He has been teaching since 2000 in different higher education institutions in Puerto Rico and around the world.  Previously, he worked at Southern Wesleyan University in Central SC, Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Miami Dade College in Miami, FL.  He teaches human resources, organizational behavior, international business and other management courses. Dr. Aviles-Santa has made international presentations in Cuba, Uruguay and Brazil concerning international openness and the benefits of trade and agreements.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Aviles-Santa obtained a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in Global Management and a Ph.D. in International Business and Entrepreneurial Management & Development from Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.  He has worked with state and federal government agencies as a business consultant, is part of the Education Committee at the Hispanic Alliance, works with the South Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and formerly led the Puerto Rico Initiative in the Upstate following Hurricane Maria.

Dr. Aviles-Santa attends New Spring Church in Powdersville where he volunteers with the FUSE program and with the Latin/Hispanic community.  He has three children:  Franklin Joel, Melanie Cristal, and Alondra Isabel.  In his spare time, he loves reading, having coffee, hiking and spending time with friends.
