What do you plan to study?

Physics and Applied Mathematics.

Why did you want to be a Hearst Fellow?

When I was unable to make it to campus in 2020, due to the pandemic, Furman had been, and remains, a beacon of hope. Being here, Furman represents, for me, an inclusive and supportive community, of which I am honored to be a part.

What has Furman meant to you during this period of change?

I am not on campus, and have technically not started school (I deferred), and so cannot give an answer yet.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to read (within, but no limited to, biographies and autobiographies, textbooks, and, on occasion, storybooks), play sports, and socialise with friends and family.

What's a quirky fact about you, or what would the title of your autobiography be?

The title of my autobiography would be: Life is but a series of Logic Gates. I say this because life presents us with options, and we are required to make decisions to shape the future as we please.

"To say Furman University is different from my home might be a bit of an understatement; however, I have no regrets, and I am more than ecstatic to be here! The Furman community is diverse, inclusive and welcoming to all! Everyone is accepting and amiable, and they make you feel part of the community. Also, the campus is very beautiful and green. In a world where global warming and the need for trees increases, Furman does a great job of shaping our lives around the nature that surrounds us, and inculcating that into our daily lives. The classes have been fantastic! I had always appreciated the value of practical learning whereby the theories and principles we learn are brought to life, and Furman provides such an education and more! Furman University and the Furman Advantage have been a great experience for me! Indeed, Furman has been, and continues to be, my home away from home."
