Kemmons “Kem” Wilson, III is a Principal and 3rd-generation family member at Kemmons Wilson Companies (KWC) which is best known for the founding of the hotel chain Holiday Inn.  Kem’s focus is primarily on hospitality-related opportunities where he is President of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners (KWHP), an entity comprised of hospitality funds allowing outside partners to invest alongside the Wilson family in the hospitality space.  Before KWC, Kem grew his investment experience through working as a research analyst for a hedge fund of funds and as a financial analyst for an investment consulting firm.  Kem also spent a couple years working for a non-profit corporation servicing people with disabilities.  For many years at KWC, Kem’s primary focus was on building and managing portfolios for Wilson Investment Management, the wealth management arm of the Wilson family.  As President of the KWHP Funds, Kem applies his 20+ years of investment experience. 

Kem currently serves on the board of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners and Peak + Energy Solutions.  Additionally, Kem is actively involved in philanthropy serving on the board of the Christian Community Foundation and on the Board of Trustees for Furman University where he serves on the Executive Committee and as Chairman of the Investment Committee. 

Kem’s education includes a BA in Business Administration from Furman University, an MMH (Master of Management in Hospitality) from Cornell University and an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
