Kemmons Wilson, III (“Kem”) joined Kemmons Wilson Companies (KWC) in 2005 and is a Principal of the firm focusing primarily on private equity initiatives and hospitality-related opportunities where he is also President of Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Funds (KWHP).  Before starting his career in the family business, Kem grew his investment experience though working as a research analyst for a hedge fund of funds and as a financial analyst for an investment consulting firm.  Kem also spent a couple years working for a non-profit corporation servicing people with disabilities.  For many years at KWC, Kem’s primary focus was on the marketable securities portfolios for Wilson family members and various Wilson-related corporate/charitable entities.  As a Partner in the management of the KWHP Fund, Kem applies his 15+ years of investment experience.

Kem is actively involved in philanthropy as Chairman of the Board for Repairing the Breach, and on the Board of Trustees for Furman University.

His professional associations include serving on the boards of Peak + Energy Solutions, Valor Hospitality, KWHP, and Holiday Inn Club Vacations – all of which are portfolio companies of KWC.

Kem keeps active and enjoys all things outdoors. His friends and family might call him an adrenaline junkie having participated in a range of extreme activities from skydiving to backcountry skiing to running with the bulls in Pamplona.

Kem’s education includes a BA in Business Administration from Furman University, an MMH (Master of Management in Hospitality) from Cornell University and an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
