Over the past nearly 15 years, Bryan has a track record of successfully launching and growing high-impact initiatives within dynamic environments ranging from health-tech startups to universities and multi-billion dollar healthcare centers.

Bryan joined The Hill Institute as Managing Director in 2019. He has been responsible for the launch and growth of numerous initiatives within the institute, executed new external partnerships, and secured new funding resources. He has authored and been successfully awarded several federal, state, and corporate foundation grants, launched a startup program nominated nationally for “Excellence in New Venture Creation” (GVL Starts), and helped lead South Carolina’s first ever state-wide student pitch competition (SC Innovates).

Through generating collaborative partnerships with public and private entities, Bryan has successfully connected campus programs with the local business community that enhance the student experience and foster community engagement and economic vibrancy.

Prior to joining The Hill Institute, Bryan served as a founding member of a multi-billion-dollar academic health center’s innovation office (Prisma Health). In this role, he had direct leadership in the commercialization strategies of over 350 unique life science innovation opportunities, oversaw incubator programs, and launched a tech maturation fund to support new tech development, resulting in an estimated $35 million of regional economic impact based on a third-party study.

Bryan has also co-founded a residential/commercial real estate team, served as an advertising account executive for Michelin, founded a custom furniture business, and served as Greenville’s designated community organizer for Global Entrepreneurship Week multiple times.

He has served on numerous boards and committees, including the South Carolina Business Incubator Association, South Carolina Biotechnology Industry Organization (SCBIO), InnoVision Awards Organization, Humimic Medical, Addo Global, Exercise is Medicine Greenville, and Prisma’s Healthcare Innovation & Transformation Committee.

He is a Greenville, South Carolina, native and graduate of Clemson University with a degree in business management/executive leadership and entrepreneurship. Bryan is also a certified Startup Facilitator Coach with the CO.STARTERS institute. He and his wife Megan of 12 years have four boys and one very spoiled girl.
