Andy earned his Bachelor's in Music Education from Furman in 2013. He returned to Furman as an Accessibility Specialist in December of 2021, and then earned his M.S. in Innovation and Leadership in 2026. Prior to coming to Furman, he taught music for two years in public school and worked at Project HOPE Foundation for five years, where his focus was teaching vocational and life skills to students across the Autism spectrum.
At Furman, Andy oversees FIND Furman, a program he designed to support neurodivergent students in their transition to college. Outside of his work at Furman, Andy is an active musical theatre actor on various stages in the upstate, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Barbara Stone Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in the upstate community.
Andy spent 10 years performing with and directing competitive teams within Winter Guard International, having earned a World Championship silver medal in 2015 in the Independent Open Class, as well as earning a coveted spot in World Class Finals in 2018. While no longer involved in an official capacity, he remains a dedicated fan and supporter.
