Vidyaa Gudivada, received an SCICU grant for the summer of 2018. She worked with Dr. Onarae Rice, a professor in Furman’s Neuroscience program, to study the brain’s dopamine D3 receptor in rodents. Their goal was to better understand Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and find a possible treatment. She had the opportunity to present her research at a conference in San Diego, California.
In her own words...
“We had a lot of people come to our poster. I spoke to a lot of graduate students who also did behavioral neuroscience research. I was given good feedback on how to further improve our future research [and I] learned about new neuroscience lab technology.”
“It was a great experience to present the research that we worked so hard for. It was great to hear feedback from others! I had a wonderful time.”
