CLP: Furman Symphonic Band in concert

The Furman University Department of Music will present a concert featuring the Furman Symphonic Band Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Join the Furman University Symphonic Band in an evening of contemporary and traditional concert band music, featuring composers Alfred Reed, Kenneth Alford, Jacques Offenbach, Adolphus Hailstork, Frank Ticheli and Carol Brittin Chambers.

Since 1920, the Furman Symphonic Band has created exceptional music in concert halls on campus and throughout the country. Performers in this ensemble come from a wide variety of majors on campus–one of the benefits of being a top national liberal arts university. The Symphonic Band performs concerts in the 2000-seat McAlister Auditorium on campus and regularly travels to perform for other groups and communities as well as for professional conferences.
