Tigers, Gamecocks, Bulldogs and Paladins: How they came to be

In an article appearing in Greenville Journal, writer Jeannie Putnam spoke to Furman University’s Jeffrey Makala to understand the evolution of mascots at the university. Makala, special collections librarian and university archivist, explained the many nicknames for Furman sports teams throughout the years and the various manifestations of the beloved Paladin.
