Furman University music graduate Mary-Mitchell Campbell (class of 1996) had encouraging words for students of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) when she gave the commencement keynote at Stevens Center in Winston-Salem. Addressing the 246 graduates and undergraduates, she said, “Set goals, dream big, make improvements upon yourself. Work hard, be kind, show up, love yourself and what makes you different and amazing things can happen for you … Now get out there and make the world a better place for all of us.” Campbell, a 1992 graduate of UNCSA’s high school, is a conductor, Broadway music director, composer and arranger. The story appeared in the Winston-Salem Journal.
