Monday’s announcement that Furman University President Elizabeth Davis will conclude her presidency after the 2026-27 academic year spurred a flurry of activity in local and statewide news outlets. Davis, Furman’s 12th president who is departing the year after the university celebrates its 200th anniversary, took on the leadership role in 2014.
