Laura Brannan Fretwell ’16 named ‘Outstanding Graduate’ at George Mason U.

Laura Brannan Fretwell, a 2016 Furman University history alumna, was named an Outstanding Graduate Student Honoree by George Mason University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Fretwell, who recently defended her dissertation in the history department at George Mason, researches and teaches United States history, African American history, spatial theory, memory studies, and digital and public history. She’ll go on to Florida Atlantic University this fall where she’ll serve as assistant professor of digital and public history. She was featured on the College of Humanities and Social Sciences website.
