- Campus-Wide Participation – The entire university takes part, with no classes scheduled on the big day so students and faculty may fully participate.
- Presentations in Creative Formats – Beyond research posters and academic talks, students showcase their work through performances, film screenings, interactive exhibits and hands-on demonstrations.
- Study Away and Internship Reflections – Many students share their global learning and real-world work experiences, providing insight into how Furman’s programs extend beyond the classroom.
- Cross-Disciplinary Exposure – Presentations are not confined to a single department, allowing students to learn from disciplines they might not normally explore.
- Artistic and Musical Showcases – In addition to academic research, creative projects like theatrical performances, musical recitals and visual art displays are a key part of Furman Engaged.
- Community and Alumni Involvement – The event attracts employers, alumni, community partners and local organizations, providing networking opportunities and real connections.
- A Celebration of Learning – From science experiments to public policy discussions to creative writing, Furman Engaged reflects the broad spectrum of student interests.
