In an article appearing in Korea JoongAng Daily, Furman University’s Sungjae “Francis” Kim reported on the similarities between proposed trade policies of President Elect Trump and those of the “Roaring 20s” under the Wilson administration and later, under Harding. Kim, an associate professor of finance in the Department of Business and Accounting and regular contributor to The JoongAng, wrote that imposing excessive tariffs on foreign goods and the retaliatory tariffs that will surely follow, may lead to a global economic collapse much like The Great Depression of the 1930s.

The story first ran in The JoongAng.
