In a Newsweek article about the 2024 election, Furman University’s Danielle Vinson speculated on what happened to the millions of votes that were cast in 2020 for Joe Biden and why Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t see the results expected at the polls. Vinson, a professor of politics and international affairs, told reporter Ewan Palmer that traces of misogyny among the American electorate may have something to do with the lackluster returns for Harris. Vinson also suggested that in places like Michigan, former 2020 Biden supporters, by casting votes for third-party candidates in 2024, may have voiced their disappointment in the Biden administration’s support of Israel.
