As the days tick down toward election 2024, Furman University’s Brent Nelsen weighed in on the importance of casting a ballot, no matter how a state may lean politically. Nelsen, the Jane Fishburne Hipp Professor of Politics and International Affairs, said, “We are the people that choose our leaders, and we need to honor that heritage.” Nelsen’s comments were aired on several news outlets including WSPA (CBS) 7News in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson and Asheville, WCBD (NBC) in Charleston, WJBF (ABC) in Augusta, WSAV (NBC) in Savannah, WBTW (CBS) in Myrtle Beach, and FOX 46 in Charlotte (via WJZY).
