Hurricane Milton churns in the Gulf of Mexico

Furman University is keeping an eye on Hurricane Milton, currently a category 4 storm in the Gulf of Mexico. Milton is projected to make landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday, then cross Florida and head into the Atlantic. It is not projected to threaten South Carolina or the Upstate as this time.
If the storm becomes a threat to the campus, University Police will work with the National Weather Service to monitor conditions on campus and send emergency notifications as needed.
