Peggy Good ’67, former trustee, dies at 78

Peggy Ellison Good ’67 died August 1 from complications of pulmonary fibrosis. She was 78. Good, who was married for 57 years to P. Edwin (Ed) Good ’67, was a member of the Furman University Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2006. She received the Blackwell Alumni Service Award in 2006. Good had been a remarkable student at Furman, graduating with the Donaldson Medal as the outstanding female scholar. Peggy and Ed both went on to graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ed Good was also a trustee, and served as chair from 2020 to 2022. The couple’s three sons are also Furman graduates: Paul ’93, Matt ’96, and Jon ’97.

The obituary says a service will be held at First Baptist in Greenville, 847 Cleveland Street, on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. The family requested gifts be made to First Baptist or by designating the Cothran Center for Vocational Reflection on this Clearly Furman website.
