For their historic appearance in the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the Furman University Paladins were honored by the Greenville County Council. Councilwoman and Furman University Chief of Staff Liz Seman presented a proclamation to the team during a meeting March 21. FOX Carolina, WSPA 7News and WYFF News4 covered the story. Before this year’s March Madness, it had been more than 40 years since the Paladins won a berth in the NCAA tournament, and nearly 50 years since the team saw a victory in the tournament.
