Do social media, interactive whiteboards and other recent innovations benefit students? The New York Times asks those questions in its latest Room for Debate discussion, “The Frontier of Classroom Technology,” and Furman education professor Paul Thomas is one of several writers who were invited to respond.

His piece in the Times ultimately led to an interview with a radio station in Seoul, South Korea, where Dr. Thomas discussed the role of technology in the classroom.

In Room for Debate, The Times invites knowledgeable outside contributors to discuss news events and other timely issues.
