Furman’s links lay claim to top-30 in state

The Furman Golf Club has once again made the list of 30 best public golf courses in South Carolina, according to “Best You Can Play 2023” list compiled by the South Carolina Golf Course Rating Panel, as reported by The State newspaper. the par-72 course, which underwent a major renovation in 2008 when all 18 greens were rebuilt, is one of only two courses in the Upstate to make the list. The State news story also reports that South Carolina was ranked among the top five golf destinations in the world.

Furman University, who call The Furman Golf Club their home course, has a storied golf program, with legendary players including Betsy King ’77, Beth Daniel ’78, Brad Faxon ’83, Dottie Pepper ’87 and the 2020 National Player of the Year Natalie Srinivasan ’20.
