Ken Kolb offers solutions to peer review crisis

Peer-review publication is a cornerstone of the academy and commonly a requirement for university faculty to be promoted. However, myriad forces have created a backlog of work waiting to be published, jeopardizing some professors’ professional futures. Ken Kolb, professor and chair of the Department of Sociology, tweeted recently that his tenured colleagues around the country need to step up and do more peer reviewing. His comments are included in this Inside Higher Ed article about the issue.
