Furman University is named among the top 20 private universities for making an impact, earning the No. 12 spot, according to “The Princeton Review Best Value Colleges” guide.

The Princeton Review selected 209 colleges for the 2023 guide by surveying more than 650 colleges and universities. Schools included in the publication earned the highest return on investment ratings based on greater than 40 data points covering academics, affordability and career preparation.

To determine the top 20 schools for making an impact, The Princeton Review tallied student ratings and responses to survey questions addressing community service opportunities, student government, sustainability efforts and on-campus student engagement. The publication also took into account PayScale.com’s percentage of alumni that reported having high job meaning.
