Furman student taps into childhood passion to add color to campus

Clothes, linens, toiletries, and your favorite pillow are among the things you’re likely to bring to campus on move-in day. For Isaiah Ives ’23, a history major from Boston, the packing list also included his collection of K’nex building system components. Except those came with him later after he was inspired to start building miniature bridges with the plastic toys across a stream on the Furman University campus. For Livin’ Upstate, journalist and Furman alumnus Jamarcus Gaston caught up with Ives to talk about the two bridges currently in place and plans for two more.
