Test Our New SoTLBot™

Are you curious about the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) but unsure where to start? We’re inviting faculty and staff to participate in a focus group to test our new SoTLBot™, an AI-powered research mentor designed to support you through every stage of pedagogical inquiry. Whether you’ve noticed an intriguing pattern in student performance, wondered about the effectiveness of a teaching strategy, or are ready to design a formal study, this tool meets you where you are.

SoTLBot™ facilitates systemic reflection and documentation of your pedagogical efforts. It can help you brainstorm questions, explore relevant educational theories, select appropriate methodologies, and navigate ethical considerations. SoTLBot™ is also tailored to our unique teaching context at Furman. While we’d be thrilled if your focus group experience leads to a proposed SoTL project, our primary goal is gathering your feedback on your user experience. Your insights will help us refine this tool to better support reflective practice across our campus. Volunteers will receive a $100 stipend for participating in three SoTLBot™ work sessions. Space is limited to 8 participants.

We welcome participants across all disciplines and experience levels, from SoTL newcomers to seasoned researchers. If you’re willing to share your user experience, please email Stephanie Freis ([email protected]). Once volunteers have been identified, we will begin scheduling the focus group sessions.
