Spring 2024 Reading Circle – Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions

February 1 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm

With her genius for demystifying science, Temple Grandin draws on cutting-edge research to take us inside visual thinking and uncover how a world increasingly geared to the verbal tends to sideline visual thinkers. Grandin proposes new approaches to educating, parenting, employing, and collaborating with visual thinkers, with insight of particular relevance to educators from every discipline.

Hailed as a “landmark book that reveals, celebrates, and advocates for the special minds and contributions of visual thinkers” please join us to explore how Grandin’s insight might influence your own teaching, advising, and mentoring work. To participate, we ask that colleagues strive to attend all three of the planned discussions.

Our reading circle will convene on the following dates/times:
Thursdays – Feb. 1, Feb. 29, and March 21 from 3:00-4:15 p.m.
Duke Library Pitts Room (203)
