Lunch and Learn: Fostering Student Agency on Your Study Away Program
In this Lunch ‘n’ Learn, facilitated by the Rinker Center’s Ben Efird, faculty and staff colleagues will discuss strategies for fostering student agency and ownership at each stage of the study away process: from program design and student interviews to post-trip assignments and summative reflection. Our conversation will include a focus on supporting our underrepresented students: LGBTQ+, students of color, and differently-abled travelers. As a part of the session’s interactive discussion, colleagues will share successful strategies and be invited to apply what they have learned in the session to their own upcoming programs.
