Sigma Chi Celebrates 30 Years at Furman University

Over 250 alumni, undergraduates, and special guests gathered in Greenville during the weekend of April 5 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Installation of the Iota Nu Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Furman University. Attendees included over 35 of the original charter members from 1989. The group celebrated this milestone with members of the undergraduate chapter at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Greenville. The weekend also included a golf outing, opening reception, Sweetheart brunch, and ritual chapter meeting.

The Fraternity’s International President, Tommy Geddings, attended the event and presented Brigadier General (Retired) Jay Burks ’89 with a “Significant Sig Award” recognizing his professional accomplishments during his over 26-year career at an Air Force Medical Service Corps Officer.

The Furman Alumni Association congratulates Sigma Chi and is proud to play an active role in supporting affinity group reunions on campus.
