Fall & Spring Concerts: My favorite Furman Tradition

Hi everyone! Its Olivia Pearson, and this week I am going to talk about my favorite Furman Tradition…

Every year FUSAB (Furman University Student Activities Board) puts on 2 concerts, one in the fall and one in the spring. Before coming to Furman, I remember hearing about Furman concerts and was so excited to be able to attend them one day as a student. Quickly after coming to Furman I realized how amazing FUSAB is and all that they do. Almost weekly, there are events, contests, giveaways, and announcements for Furman students. Their Instagram @FUSAB is filled with examples but the fall and spring concerts are two of the biggest events every year. FUSAB has brought in artists such as Yung Gravy, Wacka Flocka Flame, Amine, Snakehips, T-Pain, and so many more!

FUSAB will always announce the date early enough for you to plan to attend and then they keep you waiting to know the performer until a few weeks before the show. They love to drop hints and have students guess who could be coming which makes announcement day even more fun. Since this is my first year at Furman I was SO excited to hear what artists were coming to Furman. This year our fall concert was Briston Maroney, which was AMAZING !!!

It is known that the spring concert is typically bigger than the fall concert, and this year our spring concert performer was Tinashe!

No matter whether or not you know the artist, it is so fun to attend these events! This tradition is one that I hope lasts forever and gets me excited each year to see who FUSAB brings in!
