WHO WE ARE
Furman is a nationally ranked liberal arts and sciences university nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We’ve been around since 1826, which makes us one of the oldest private universities in a region that continues to grow and consistently receives recognition for our vibrant city of Greenville, South Carolina.
With just 2,550 students, we’re small enough that your professors actually know your name, but ambitious enough to compete at the Division I level across 18 varsity sports. We’re one of the smallest D-I schools in the country, and we like it that way.
Our campus in Greenville, SC has been called one of the most beautiful in America. The city itself is a gem too: a thriving downtown, incredible food scene, and easy access to both mountains and coast.
