More than 350 of Furman students compete as athletes across our 18 Division I teams, creating the single largest shared student experience outside the classroom. Wherever they go, these student-athletes represent the drive for excellence that defines Furman. And when they take the field or the court, the track or the course, or enter the classroom, our student-athletes also apply the leadership skills, teamwork, discipline and passion for success that will reward them across their lives. Paladin athletics is about more than winning championships or earning academic and athletic honors; it is also about building abilities and ambition that change lives.
CLEARLY FURMAN is making major investments in these champions of today and tomorrow because here, athletic and academic excellence take our student-athletes and the Furman name further. Through this campaign, we will create endowments that forever advance our recruitment and support of outstanding student-athletes – and renovate and expand the spaces in which our alumni and fans can come together to cheer on our Paladins.
This gift supports the renovation and expansion of basketball facilities to include an improved student-athlete and fan experience.
Donors can make permanent the capacity of our student-athletes to compete and win through endowed scholarships that provide a lasting resource for those investments and remove them from the vagaries of annual budget.
For our student-athletes, wearing the purple and white is more than a statement of school pride or team unity. It is a symbol of their determination to succeed at the highest levels of competition and academic challenge, to represent Furman as winners even as they ask more of themselves as learners.
