Every day at Furman we are incredibly fortunate to witness the transformative power of gifts that work harmoniously to shape a brighter future for all. Through their vision, generosity and hope for the future, those who give through Furman ensure that more students have the opportunity to change the world in positive ways.

In April, we launched the university’s bold new comprehensive campaign, CLEARLY FURMAN, the Campaign for Our Third Century, which illuminates the power of philanthropy not only to provide essential resources for student success but also to serve as an inspiration to our campus and broader community by showcasing the profound power of giving.

CLEARLY FURMAN prioritizes philanthropic investments in five areas:

Strengthening academic opportunity and excellence through student scholarships and funding for outstanding teaching and innovative academic programs.
Supporting every student’s growth and personal vision through The Furman Advantage and intentional advising, meaningful community engagement and internship opportunities, intensive career preparation, and study away experiences.
Prioritizing student wellness and well-being, ensuring that Furman is maximally inclusive for students of every life experience.
Enhancing athletic competitiveness and leadership through investments in Paladin teams, facilities, coaches, and training programs.
Expanding the integration of hands-on learning and career preparation through our four exceptional institutes and all they offer for state and national impact.

GOAL: RAISE $426 MILLION BY 2026, ENGAGE 65% OF FURMAN ALUMNI

In fiscal year 2023, Furman raised $41.6 million, marking the third year in a row that giving exceeded $40 million. Highlights include 1,443 first-time donors, 54% giving participation from the Class of 2023, and 43% giving participation from employees. During this year’s Dins Day, 2,339 alumni, students, parents, employees and friends of the university contributed more than 3,000 gifts totaling $1,433,873 toward student scholarships, academics, athletics, institutes and student experiences. As a result of the collective effort of the Furman community to sculpt a future that will shine brighter for generations to come, more than $330 million in total commitments has been raised in CLEARLY FURMAN, the Campaign for Our Third Century. Even as we express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our philanthropic partners who have advanced Furman to today, we recognize that our journey is far from over. The gifts we receive, the knowledge we pursue and the actions we take compel us to define a world of even greater possibilities. Together, we stand on the precipice of boundless potential, fueled by the generosity of those who believe in the timeless impact of a Furman education.
