Hartness Pavilion

Hartness Pavilion offers some of the most beautiful views anywhere on the Furman University campus. This room is enclosed by glass on three sides and overlooks Furman’s lake and the Rose Garden. Hartness Pavilion accommodates up to 175 people and is well-suited for dinners or parties. Featuring a large screen television and multiple microphone options, the room is great for conferences and meetings as well.

Cherrydale House

Cherrydale is ideal for small gatherings of family, friends, and colleagues. Situated at the highest point of Furman’s campus, Cherrydale offers seclusion from the hum and bustle of the main campus. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Cherrydale Alumni House offers an elegant atmosphere; adjacent grounds also accommodate beautiful outdoor events. Cherrydale’s two-story interior and large grounds allow for mingling, while its period architecture and antique furnishings can inspire relaxing conversation.

Herring Center

Designed to match Furman’s architecture style, the Herring center is a two-story, 22,000-square-foot facility perfect for classes and business meetings. A gorgeous lobby, complete with a fireplace and player piano, complements the state-of-the-art technology found in several classrooms.

Janie E. Furman Rose Garden

The Janie Earle Furman Rose Garden lends spectacular beauty to intimate, standing-only weddings for 60-70 guests. The garden features 800 rose bushes, a 19th-century gazebo, and a charming fountain.

Furman Bell Tower

The Bell Tower, a well-known symbol for the university, is a standing-room-only wedding venue ideal for up to 60 guests. Surrounded by the campus lake and the mountains of the upstate, it is sure to make a lasting impression on your ceremony.

Desantis Pavilion

The 1,600-square-foot DeSantis Pavilion, which is part of the Younts Conference Center, offers a stunning view of the Cherrydale Alumni House and its surrounding landscaping. The pavilion can seat 175 for a wedding or group outing, or serve as a pleasant place to mingle, chat and dine, with seating for up to 120 guests banquet style. Ample parking and a state-of-the-art sound system are also available. It’s the perfect location for a smaller outdoor gathering.

Amphitheater

A walk around Furman’s lake walking trail will bring you to the Furman amphitheater. This canopy-roofed venue is a popular location for concerts, performances, and weddings as well as company picnics and retreats. The amphitheater is equipped with a full sound system and restroom facilities. The venue, renovated from its original seating capacity of 450, is now able to comfortably hold 3,000 people. Speakers in the nearby bell tower broadcast Furman’s weekly Music by the Lake Summer Concert Series to listeners around the shore of the campus lake.

Timmons Arena

Timmons Arena is located on the south end of Furman’s campus. Two-story windows and an elegant French Quarter stone floor make Timmons’s lobby an area well-suited for small receptions and special events.

With a permanent stage and a concrete floor, Timmons Arena has over 33,500 square feet of trade show space. Seating capacity for Timmons is 2,000 for banquet seating, 5,000 for sporting events and 5,500 for concerts. In-house sound and lighting are available.

Timmons Arena also has an elegant private suite located backstage which can accommodate up to 200 people. With direct access from the dressing rooms, it is the perfect location for private dinners or receptions.

McAlister Auditorium

McAlister Auditorium seats 1,900 for lectures, concerts, theatrical performances, political debates, and rallies. A large hydraulic orchestra pit, full theatrical rigging, and well-designed acoustics allow for a variety of productions, from guest speakers to symphonic oratorios. McAlister offers a full range of theatrical technology and experienced technical staff.

Paladin Stadium

Paladin Stadium is home to Furman’s beloved Paladins football team, the 2004 Southern Conference NCAA-IAA champions. Capable of seating 16,000, the stadium is used for Furman’s annual commencement exercises as well as athletic events.

Betty Ellison Pavilion

Located at the Furman golf course, Betty Ellison Pavilion is a large 2000-square-foot area that is perfect for tournaments and social gatherings of all sizes. The Ellison Pavilion has a state-of-the-art sound system, seats up to 100 people, and is lighted and covered for the comfort and convenience of guests.


Trustees Dining Room

The Trustees Dining Room is an elegantly decorated room ideal for an intimate meal or a first-class business meeting. The dining room is located in Daniel Dining Hall and has a 70 person capacity.
