Two advantages of the SCICU program, compared to Furman\u2019s Summer Research Fellows program, are that it will support research-related travel expenses and a larger materials and supplies budget than Furman\u2019s $250 limit.<\/p>\n<p>For its 2021 funding cycle, SCICU has two programs: 1) the standard fellowship for all disciplines; and 2) the Hobcaw Barony program, which requires the successful recipient(s) to work on site in Georgetown, SC.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone considering applying for an SCICU Fellowship must contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/undergraduate-research\/contact\/\">Dr. Erik Ching<\/a>, the Director of Undergraduate Research, in advance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc., (SCICU) Student\/Faculty Research Program was created to engage students in professionally guided primary research.
