Prospective Students

To be considered for any federal financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be considered for any Furman-funded need-based grant aid in addition to any federal aid, you must complete the CSS Profile.

CSS Profile (Domestic Students Only)

Furman uses the College Board’s CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE to determine demonstrated financial need for the university’s need-based grant program (Furman Grant). Because Furman’s institutional resources are limited, we must take the best measure of a family’s ability to pay into account in awarding our own funds to students. International student applicants do not need to complete the CSS Profile. The code to use for Furman to receive your CSS PROFILE is 5222. Complete your CSS Profile.

Note: Furman utilizes the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service, known as IDOC, to receive and process financial documents that accompany the CSS/Financial Aid Profile. The College Board provides a secure website that students and parents use to upload tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, etc. that Furman uses in the evaluation of a family’s ability to pay for education. You will be notified by the College Board if/when we need these documents.

FAFSA
All applicants interested in federal and state grants, loans, and work study must complete the FAFSA. If you are a South Carolina resident, you may be eligible for a South Carolina Tuition Grant of up to $3,200 per year. To apply, complete and submit your FAFSA by June 30th of each year. The Title IV code to use for Furman to receive your FAFSA results is 003434. Complete your FAFSA.
