{"id":357,"date":"2022-10-24T14:57:03","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T14:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/institutional-commitment\/?page_id=357"},"modified":"2025-02-18T16:58:13","modified_gmt":"2025-02-18T16:58:13","slug":"international-affairs-subcommittee","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/thriving-communities-initiatives\/institutional-commitment\/international-affairs-subcommittee\/","title":{"rendered":"International Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\">Our charge as the International Affairs Committee is to a<span class=\"hotkey-layer \"><span class=\"hotkey-layer preview-overlay is-preview-sidebar-visible\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">dvise<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">on matters pertaining to internationalization and global issues affecting the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Furman community, including, but not limited to, policy development and revision, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">recruitment, multicultural training and education for faculty and staff. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"hotkey-layer \"><span class=\"hotkey-layer preview-overlay is-preview-sidebar-visible\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">We collaborate with <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">other<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">entities on campus, such as the Rinker Center for Study Away &amp; International Education and Center for Interpersonal Connections<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, to supplement their work on behalf of campus internationalization, and i<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">dentify opportunities to connect diversity<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">rich and global experiences with existing or <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">new courses which<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">prepare students to live, work and contribute in a diverse globally <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">connected world. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"hotkey-layer \"><span class=\"hotkey-layer preview-overlay is-preview-sidebar-visible\"><span id=\"page3R_mcid9\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">We also aim to serve as a bridge to engage the Furman community with the broader <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Greenville International network.<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our charge as the International Affairs Committee is to advise on matters pertaining to internationalization and global issues affecting the Furman community, including, but not limited to, policy development and revision, recruitment, multicultural training and education for faculty and staff.
