Powered by the Sun

Furman aspires to be carbon neutral by 2026. Fossil fuels are non-renewable as they draw on finite resources that will eventually run out or become too expensive to extract. Renewable energy resources such as wind, solar, and geothermal energy are constantly replenished and will never run out. Furman has made a conscious and concerted effort to transition to more renewable energy sources. Our five acre solar farm across from the campus front entrance is one of the larger arrays in the state and a testament to our commitments.
